Hi all,
I have been teaching myself javascript by writing a Sleuth helper page that adapts as you enter in more information.
It's at http://www.angus.demon.co.uk/sleuth/watson.htm
It's ready for beta test (a euphemism for 'it might still contain bugs'), so please try it out and let me know what you think!

Ive sent you my list. But Im not totaly sure about the numbers for lower levels. I only started to really pay attention later :P
So if anyone has a double that is new, maybe they can verify the numbers for the lower levels.

I still use it for lower-level cases when treasure hunting and stuff -- the numbers are good :)

i HAVE TO SAY i ENJOY HOW THE HELPER DOES THE MATH FOR YOU!!AND AS LONG AS i AM PAYING ATTENTION WHEN ENTERING THE DATA I HAVE NOT HAD AN ERROR AND THAT INCLUDES WHEN I HAVE ACCUSSED SUSPECTS WITHOUT ACTUALLY GETTING AN ALIBI (CLAMMED UP)FROM THEM, WORKS GOOD WHEN YOU GET ONE WE AND THE SUSPECT MUST HAVE FAKE ALIBI:))

I enjoy this helper too! Too bad you cant save it if you want to continue later. But apart from that it's working great!
But I did notice the helper does the math only when I reached max number of real alibis. If I got max of fakes it doesnt change the rest to real. I had to do this by hand (cases were AI's with 10 suspects).

I'm not sure what the stats are for AI cases, that's why. The stats I've seen are 7-8 fake alibis, 10-11 suspects. If anyone can say for sure that there will only be 7 fake alibis if there are 10 suspects then I can refine it. If there are always 8 fake alibis with 11 suspects too, so much the better.

Evita - see the following thread. In particular, reda's reply that is the second entry on the second page.

Thanks Tz BG - although on that thread reda said that fakes are fixed for all levels, but earlier in this thread we discovered that they aren't for intermediate cases and probably hard ones too.
I will amend the helper so that it assumes 7 fakes for AI cases.

Yes you are right I made a mistake in the other thread *blush*
But fakes are fixed for AI's :)
Another thing I disscovered (putting the helper under heavy use here):
If you mark a suspect as dead and then move the suspect around on your list the mark will stay in place so suddenly someone else is marked dead.

Hi,
I'm in the process of making some changes to the page thanks to your helpful comments, mainly by adding colour to the evidence match boxes. However, it doesn't quite work yet as when you swap two witnesses the colours stay behind. It should be working by this evening - apologies!
