Hi all,

I have been teaching myself javascript by writing a Sleuth helper page that adapts as you enter in more information.

It's at http://www.angus.demon.co.uk/sleuth/watson.htm

It's ready for beta test (a euphemism for 'it might still contain bugs'), so please try it out and let me know what you think!

Yes it is really nice, I would like to see the order numbers put on the right side also. Since the helper is long and I lose the names when I go to check if someone has clammed or dissappeared.

Thanks for your hard work.

This has worked great for me because I tend to leave my screen and come back not remebering if I asked about someone when trying to match evidence to suspect. Now just one click and bing done deal. Using the explanation option is a nice option to have. This is worth a try for everyone in my opinion.

It’s really great! I’ve tried to use the old Sleuth Helper, but it was like almost impossible because I travel a lot and the sleuth helper is in New York. Now I can use this one anywhere! Thank you so much! =-) Maybe you can ask Ben to put it on the Sleuth Community Sites!

Wow Evita! Great job!

I like the fact that the info is changing automaticly. It does take me longer to use then my own notes, but maybe its a question of getting used to it. Ill have to try this some more first.

Some remarks:
1. When someone is marked as real alibi it still shows as potential match for PE. I understand the logic behind this. Maybe add an option saying "could match - real alibi". Otherwise its difficult to see at one glance who to ask about. You see PE as possible for both real and fake alibi ppl.

2. The page is bigger then the screen. So when you look at who matches the evidence or when you want to mark someone as clammed/lost/dead, you cant see the suspects name. Its hard to know who is who without it... Dont know how you can solve this.

3. There is an option to mark if you got witness evidence against someone. But where do you mark if someone knows anything?

Dont get me wrong, I think you did a great job making this! I just want to help...

Found another "bug" hope you dont mind...

If I go to my contavt right in the begining of a case I can mark a PE as DOES MATCH. But if I later go to the suspect and find info on them like alibi etc... when I enter the info the DOES Match turns back to COULD match.

I think I have ironed out most of the bugs that people have mentioned here or in messages to me. Let me know if you find any more.

reda: 1 - I may change that, but I don't always check false alibis for physical evidence - if there is only one person with a real alibi I will check them first.
2 - I agree it's annoying that it goes off the screen (although it is OK on higher resolutions). I have put numbers at the right but will think about narrowing it. Abbreviating everything is a possibility but doesn't look as nice!
3 - the 'K' column to the right is supposed to be checked if someone knows something.

Keep 'em coming!

How reliable is the helper???If it tells me someone is guilty but I cannot support accusation with evidence??What then???
