Ok I have posted a couple times in various threads on this, but since they keep getting bumped off, and ive spoken to several more people about this, I thought it should have its own thread and get the opinion of the community.

The games are fun, in my opinion, but they are taking up the entire first page of the boards, and deterring people from posting anything else, knowing its going to be buried in two seconds by Word Chain, Three Word Story, or one of the other bazillion game threads.

I wonder if it would be possible, to maybe make a NEW board, specifically for these games, so we ALL can enjoy the boards?

Fiddler, Fatima is my double, and I apologize for posting something on the boards that I realize would have been more appropriately handled in private. I was just a tad steamed at the moment and acted without discretion. As Biggie said, we are for the most part a very civil community and pretty much stick together despite our squabbles, just like a family. :)

Separate game board? *Into it*!

Sorry, lol, kindasorta had to... I think it's a great idea. It'll clean the boards up a bit for sure and in terms of the whole "what goes where" question, I think Sushi's Wiki thingy is pretty helpful, i.e., the "game-ishness" of a thing depends largely upon the degree to which responses are structured. And hey, it's easy to move stuff around if sleuthy little toes get stepped on by threads being moved.

See, I would be on the games a whole lot more if it did not mean burying other stuff. I love the games. I know! We can call the new board: "The Sleuth Pub"..include the quiz, etc.

hey, i like that idea, andrea. A Sleuth Pub sounds cool, as long as i can get some Sake straight from the bottle :) then i would be there all the time...

I support this idea, especially being the creator of the ultra-popular Word Chain.

Let me just organize the purpose of each board, and see how it looks like...

GAME ANNOUNCEMENTS (aka Ben's board): This is where Admin's post annoucements about changes to the game. The feedback thread and the Community Sites thread is also there.
SLEUTH TALK: Anything related to the game (topics like Shadow of the Villains, game suggestions etc.), but aren't topics that impose questions that can be easily answered in Newbie Questions.
GUMSHOE LOUNGE: The board where everything off topic goes. Current events, random things, birthday threads et cetra. If a game board is introduced, then this board wouldn't include games and quizzes.
NEWBIE QUESTIONS: Where all new players come to get answers to their Frequently Asked Questions, like Big Lucy, False Accusations, Shady etc. The golden Welcome Newbies thread is also pinned up there.
MODERATOR PICKS: Not technically a board, but more of a Bookmark page where Mods pick their favorite threads and display them for everyone to see.

Now, if Ben is to make another board......

UNTITLED BOARD: Where games and quizzes run amok. Nothing but good, old-fashioned entertainment, from my Word Chain, to Bill's Three Word Story, to Orb's Baseless Lies, and even Serges's Nice Wrapping. No more fussing over mixing games with conversations! (Sleuth Pub sounds excellent! Maybe Gaming Pub, to stray away from using the word 'Sleuth', which may confuse newbies?)

That looks much better, eh? Again, thumbs up for a seperate board for games!

I personally opt for the name "Game Room".

I will add in my recomendation for a Sleuth Pub to host the games and potentially some more roleplaying threads.

Barry Grant did a wonderful job on the last one to get it started but it did quiet down a bit after a couple of days.

Me, too! I think a separate game thread is great!
