Registration is NOW being accepted for the October 10th beta test of the Dart Leagues in the AVL ("Arch Villain League").

I need 36 volunteers total to test everything, with the following stipulations:

2 sets of 6 detectives from the same agency (6 Hitchhikers & 6 Sirens, for example)

4 sets of 3 detectives from the same agency (3 Omega, 3 Blood & Dagger, 3 Fat Kitten, 3 SMRT Investigations, for example)

2 sets of 3-man teams regardless of agency affiliation

6 testers who will be teamed up at random.

If you are interested in learning about the AVL or becoming a Beta-Tester, please go to:

www.liquidkourage.net/sleuth

for more information.

If you have already talked to me about being a beta-tester, please PM me for your favlidation code.

Amanda, if enthusiasm was all that was needed, you'd be great! However, you need to be a subbed member, capaable of doing AIs on your own. I don't think even the most successful sleuther could do that on her first day. But I have a feeling the League will be around when you are more experienced and capable of participating. Feel free to join then! Happy Sleuthing!!

This Just In...

I have grouped the 9 people who registered for Open Division without a team together into 3 teams.

It wasn't done *entirely* randomly... I did it so that each team will be "captained" by a Mod/Editor. The captain of each team has one responsibility: choose their team's name and PM me with it by Monday at the latest.

THE TEAMS:

*Secret_Squirrel*, Arabella Parker, kagome_70

*Greyling*, jasNmushu, Eagle Eye Flo

*calalta*, Rosamund Clifford, Sleuth Sindy

If there is a problem with the groupings, please PM me and let me know.

It has been brought to my attention that the team distribution put together multiple players who have never done a villain hunt. So in the interest of balance, I'm making the following change to the teams.

jasNmushu is now on calalta's team.

Rosamund Clifford is now on Greyling's team.

Sorry for the inconvenience... and these teams are now permanently set.

To review what the team groupings are:

*Secret_Squirrel*, Arabella Parker, kagome_70

*Greyling*,Rosamund Clifford, Eagle Eye Flo

*calalta*,jasNmushu, Sleuth Sindy

***UPDATE***

The matches have been set! I have taken all the teams that have registered and paired them off in their respective divisions.

OPEN DIVISION:

Wolf Pack vs. River Rats
(Secret_Squirrel's team) vs. (Greyling's team)

INTER-AGENCY DIVISION:

Blood & Dagger vs. The Villain Squad(OASIS)
The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly(Eye Spy) vs. ???????????

That's right. We still have one open team spot for inter-agency division. This spot needs to be filled ASAP by 3 people from the same agency.

To that end, I am offering 50 AVL experience points FREE to the first full agency team to sign up. That may not sound like a lot, but the experience point system in the AVL is much different from Sleuth's. So please, if you're in an agency that hasn't joined the AVL yet, get 2 friends together and SIGN UP!

Also, for those who ARE registered, the site has grown a little more. You can now see details on all active AVDL matches from your stat page... just click the link under "Personal Status: AVDL" to view. The links on that page don't work yet, so don't bother... :)

That is all. 34 hours and counting!

For those who can't remember the AVL web address, and don't feel like surfing through this post to find it, Ben has graciously decided to link to it in the Sleuth Community Pages!

20 hours to go until beta... and a ton of work still left to do.

After I get some sleep, my whole day is going to revolve around getting the AVL site set up enough to run these beta matches.

If weird things start happening to the AVL site during the course of the day, don't worry... it's most likely me making some last-minute changes.

Arch Villain data WILL be updated again just prior to beta launch, and will be updated as often as possible during the matches... in other words, if your info doesn't update automatically, rest assured that it will soon and any delay won't affect the results of the competition.

There are a few beta-testers who are currently in hunts. I suggest you either finish them by midnight or (God forbid) fail them on purpose in order to be eligible for competition.

THERE IS STILL ROOM FOR ONE MORE INTER-AGENCY TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a poor poor Eye Spy team with no one to compete against. Here's the final ruling on that. If a FULL team does not sign up for this spot by 22:00 TODAY, Logan Creed, my double (Christopher Leroy) and I will be compelled to fill the last spot.

A lot of you have a lot of questions still. I will be in Sleuthchat(www.nikkie.org/sleuthchat/chat) every waking moment of the day today. Please ask anything you need to in there, as I don't actively watch for PMs when I'm working on the site.

I would like to try to set up an informal meeting for beta-testers at 19:00 today in sleuthchat. I understand that with the global nature of this game, I can't expect everyone to be present for that, but those that can please try to make it.

As always, if anyone has any questions, get in touch with me.

***UPDATE***

the AVL beta test is now LIVE. 8 teams in 2 divisions are currently duking it out to see who can claim bragging rights as the first winners in the Arch Villain Leagues.

Just because you didn't make it into this beta test doesn't mean we don't want you though... be sure to check it out and register for an upcoming test in the near future.

Just wanted to remind everyone about us since Ben in his infinite wisdom decided to EXPAND the MINUTE our test went live!

I just wanted to say Go Team! The competition element to this hunt is good fun. We're playing against such nice people though there's not much trash talking going on... 'yet'.

And thankfully even though we're on hunts we're not locked out of the expansion stuff, so it's all good! If I hadn't been able to get into the lamasery last night I may have shed a little squirrel-esque tear.

Thanks heaps Serges!
