There are two common requests that we can tackle simultaneously. The first is that people want to submit their own picture to use as their detective's avatar. The second is that there are not enough different suspect pictures.

So, if you would like to submit your own picture, I can set that as your avatar. In exchange, I would like to add those pictures to the pool of possible suspect pics. I'll set it up so that nobody else will be able to use your picture for their detective, but your face will make appearances in the various cases in the game.

I don't want to automate the process because then people will upload all kinds of junk that would detract from the game.

So, if you are interested, send in a photo of yourself to
ben@hypotheticalsoftware.com
I'll take care of the cropping, resizing and desaturating. By sending in photos, you are granting permission for use in this game.

Oh yes, if you see your picture show up on a character who is described as Heavy or Left Handed, please don't be offended. There are only two groups of pictures, male and female. The physical description of each character has nothing to do with which picture they are assigned.

A general question just occurred to me, Sleuth Admin - how do you feel about people wanting to change the pic they have submitted? Is it encouraged at all, and if yes, how often (surely you'd say no to changing somene's pic every day)?

If you just want to replace the old picture with a new one, it isn't that big a deal. Takes about 5 minutes for me to crop a picture and upload it. If you make a daily habit of it, I'd probably just start taking longer and longer to get around to it.

Yup, that's exactly what I meant. Thanks for the answer and sorry for the obscure wording.
