We all have a favourite drink, so what's yours.
Long Island Iced Tea or just a regular cup of tea.
Long or Short.
Hot or cold.
The choice is yours.

As an Aussie I should probably say someone give us a Fosters or a XXXX (that's a popular brand of beer in the northern states here.) but really I could live without it. Beer is for bbq's, sporting events, and a safety measure at seedy bars where you'd get stabbed if you ordered a drink that required an umbrella.
If someone wants to give me a Cointreau on ice, or a Gin & Tonic, that'll be fine. I'm a man of simple tastes. If I wanted a nasty shot, I'd have an old fashioned B52, and if push comes to shove I'd even settle for a bottled lollywater drink like a lemon Ruski. :)

Anyone have a good martini recipe? Just got my martini set today and need to make a run for the liquor store. NO IDEA what to get.

The Martini is a very basic drink. Gin with a very small amount (one drop, possibly two) of dry vermouth. Some people even forego the vermouth completely. Put your shot of Gin in a shaker with some ice, add the vermouth, if desired. Then, as we all know from James Bond, you can either shake the Martini or use a bar spoon and stir it. Some people believe shaking the Martini "bruises" the liquor. After a few seconds of shaking or stirring, pour the liquir out of the shaker through a strainer (leaving the ice in the shaker) and into a Martini glass (preferrably chilled). Add an olive on a toothpick and you have the Classic Martini. Absolutely MUST have the appropriate glass. It's all in the presentation. :)
Bottoms up!

Bourbon (Maker's Mark).
I drink anything that don't have to be chewed. At the moment I'm into bourbon. I prefer Maker's Mark if I can lay my hands on a bottle. I also like black rum. Beer is great too. And water (tap water or Ramlösa Original). Juice from time to time.

We have a very simple martini recipe: buy some good quality gin, keep it in the freezer, and add only the memory of the thought of the smell of some vermouth.
NB if following this recipe you may need to remember to wear oven gloves while taking the lid off the gin bottle, cos sticking to the metal kinda hurts.
