perhaps the agency directory could have a little green neon light
lit up next to the agencies that are recruiting...and perhaps to further cut down on non-subscriber requests the agency directory
page could list in red at the top of the page that one needs to be
a subscriber to apply to an agency.

Interesting idea, though it should probably be a bold font instead of a light to keep with game continuity.

I like the idea of having the recruiting boards, for role-playing, question-answering, and policy-explaining purposes, as well as allowing lone wolf detectives to announce their intentions. I'm not sure how useful the recruiting "light" would be, since actively recruiting agencies are usually at the top of the recruiting board. As far as cutting down on non-subscriber requests, I don't think your idea will cut down on it... there are already so many places that explain that rule.

I like the thought behind it though. I wonder what other people will have to say...

Wouldnt the best way to stop non subscribers from trying to join agencys just be to move the threads to the subscriber center? Only subscribed players can access it, so it would keep unsubs out.

There is a standing request, thank you Jojo, for a flashing pink neon sign in the recruiting thread to replace those tiny litttle letters (that actuaully were enlarged not so long ago!!)) at the top that say you must be subbed.

Bill, typically the biggest argument against only subs getting into, or even just posting on, the recruiting board is that there are actually non subbed directors that would not be able to acess it.

Ah, yes, of course. Duh! Well, isn't there some way to allow only subs or those in agencies to access a thread?

One point to make is that if un-subbed people see the fun that can be had by joining an agency by the chatter and discussion on the Recruiting Boards they might be induced to subscribe.

that would be a great idea, allow non-subbed players to join an agency for about a week or so, that way they can have a taste of it

an advanced way of shareware :)

I kind of like the idea... maybe create a category called "intern"?

You just want your very own pretty little intern don't you Serges?

Don't worry, man, we got all the perks and amenities at HH New York already!

I like the idea of having the "interns" too, not Monica Lewinsky style like the above pig is suggesting ;) but, it would take up space. Maybe give them sort of a dummy agency so they can train on it, without actually counting against a given agency (kind of like giving them a taste like you did with the FMs?)
