For those of you on the site who are American or can sympathize with the events of 9/11/01, I wanted to say we should all take some time tomorrow to reflect not only on what happened, but the feeling of unity that followed.....

It is a sad day, but also a day to remember the heroes and the American spirit that followed the attack.

I will be flying my flag tomorrow, and others should too.

Don't have the Stars & Stripes at home, but the sentiment will be there...

I would really appreciate it if everyone could stay AWAY from politics and other issues surrounding this topic - Please don't make me delete your post.

I'd just like to say it's not just Americans that should be remembered. There were lots of british people involved and many other nationalities as well.

I ask everyone when they remember the heroes not just to think of there own nationality but everyone involved.

It is a tragic day to remember but in doing so we can show how united we all stand.

Yeah definitely Helen, thank you for saying that. EVERYONE who died or lost someone that day should be remembered and appreciated.

And I'm sorry Jojo, I just thought it would be a nice rememberance.

Biggie, I don't think Jojo was threatening anything toward you or the posts on this thread to this point. I think Jojo was just pre-emptively warning people not to turn this into a debate or soapbox thread, since it does carry both emotional and sociopolitical merit. It seems like he was just reminding us to leave our agendas at the door in here. (If I;m wrong, kindly correct/clarify)

For what it's worth, I just realized that my son (born 5 weeks ago) will never be able to grasp what the world was like before these attacks occurred. And that saddens me greatly.

Yes, that's right Serges. I meant that as a word of advice of sort for people to keep in mind when they post.

We should also be remebering the rescue workers (police, firefighters, etc) because the vast majority of them are suffering from lung ailments (most dying from it) now b/c of that day.

So not only should those who died that day be remembered but the ones who still live and are now suffering for it.

That was such a sad and tragic day that will never be forgotten!

I would like to follow Ms. Helen Corning's sentiments with a reminder that, while the attack was on American soil, it was an attack on the WORLD Trade Center. There were many people from all over the world who were affected by this.

I know I have been changed forever because of it and I send my sympathies to the planet.

I, like BG have been changed forever because of 9/11. It was and is so sad.

My sympathies go out to all that suffered... and still are.
