For those, who have gotten all the smart skills and a set of charm (or tough) skills finished, suggestions on what to go for next? Should I try for faction skills or just start working on the other interview set? As a side note, I have gotten Hypnotism and Basic Interrigation already. I'm considering getting Underworld Connections but I'm not sure if I should go for something more immediately useful, like Lock Picking. Suggestions?

Yeah..I meant pick pocketing from Arcanum Brotherhood. Most useless faction skill.
I forgot about Underworld connections, which is good. However, I don't have it, and it has not cause me to loose a suspect, it is just convenient.
I still go for Surveillance first, but you gotta remember to have your smart gear on.

And Pugilism is a tough skill which is supposed to give you more of a chance of intimidation/interrogation working. I have it, and I am not sure how much of a "push" it really gives.

Tz, if you meant lockpicking and not pickpocketing, then YES, get lock picking. I think that should be among the basic arsenal of skills for any detective. If you meant pickpocketing, bah. Like Andrea says, it could be handy for those in the hunts, because you have to keep hold of your purse strings for bribes as needed, but otherwise, bah. I would recommend surveillance or underworld connections.

Andrea, pugilism gives you +10 tough.

I definitely meant Lock Picking.
And I wasn't just asking about particular faction skills (though Surveillance is one of the ones on my list). I was also asking what some of the more experience people out here think would be more useful: to finish off the tough skills (in my case since I already have the charming) or to pick up some of the faction skills. Either way, it will take a while to get all of them.

I would go for lock picking as the next thing. Running into locked doors is frustrating. With lock picking, you get to go in and answer one question, either alibi or motive, without actually asking that suspect. It saves you one question and can mean the difference between getting that suspect to finger someone else, or clamming up.

I will add to the crowd here and say Lock Picking first, then Underworld Connections, then back to more Tough skills.
Survilance and safe cracking can wait if you are in an agency that already has detectives with them.
Pick pockets is the least useful skill, a definate last pick.

i´ve found Pick pocketing quite useful.
So i´d say Lock Picking, Surveillance, Underworld Connectiona and then Pick Pocketing.
Safe Cracking has been most useless to me.

Safe Cracking is great if your agency is hunting for treasures, but otherwise its not useful for individual cases or villain hunts (At least as far as we know yet!)
I love the combination of lockpicking and hypnotism. Sometimes when I'm really lucky, I'll get all 10 or 11 suspects only asking a few questions to suspects. That really helps later on in the case trying to get witness evidence.
