I heart stupidity. When you see it, post it here. I'll start.

Some of you know that I've do some teaching of first year sociology students in university. I really enjoy it, and love my students, but -GAWD- grading their work is a nightmare.

Through the course of a year, they have to write short essays on a range of topics ---feminism, Karl Marx, education, Freud, crime, etc. I feel kinda guilty laughing at these because of course they are writing under extreme pressure, but holy bobo I find them funny! Every so often, they write something so frickin' hysterical that it makes me gag laughing. These fleeting gems, I collect. Thought y'all might get a kick out of some of them.

Here we go. (nb, all typos and grammar boo boos are theirs from here on, not mine)

Males may complain that they do not get enough of sexual gratification. Unlike women, who think they get more than enough.

Wow i needed cheering up and they just did it hehe.

I think that one is my fave. Sheesh, no wonder why you have been exhausted grading papers this week! Clearly my 6 year old nephew could write more intelligent stuff than this (though there would be nothing to amuse you then).

I also really like this one:

Please tell me that his (I know it must be a guy) whole essay was not written like this!? "if you really want sumthin in life u can go 4 it"....that will be my words of wisdom from now on. He should be a motivational speaker. ; )

lol, fille, yeah it was...it's amazing how easily the Canadian dream (*beats a beaver to death with a felafel, a dictionary and a poutine-flavoured cell phone*) translates into the text-speak :) I can't even talk about how many times I've seen "LOL" written in a university essay, ugh!

And yeah, it was totally a guy :)

I'm with Cordy...my lawn needs mauling. I've been negligent about that.

Is the Canadian dream like the American dream, only colder?

I think they're similar, but the American dream involves streets of gold with hawt chicks on every corner and a chicken in every pot, and the Canadian dream involves a streets of cold with hawt penguins on every corner and a beaver smoking pot.

So, almost exactly the same, when you think about it.
