Recruitment tampering?

Last nite, I responded to a thread in the recruitment boards from Racheal Greene letting her know that ERF TEAM was interested. Upon checking to see if she responded back, I noticed my reply was gone (deleted)....
As this is the 3rd time this has happened to me, I've alerted Ben. If and when he finds out who has done this, I will ask that they lose their status as board moderator.
If anyone else has noticed this and didn't think much of it (as I did the 1st two times), please PM Ben as well. The last thing we need is someone trying to block anyone's efforts at building a better team. I'm not going to go into who I think it may be, but I am asking everyone to be watchful, because this may have happened to you as well.

"It's possible there is a bug that caused this. I've been making a number of changes to the message board code lately, so a new bug may have been introduced. "
Chrone, Ben explained what may have happened. It could have been a bug. Please don't it as a personal attack against you or your agency. I think what happened is people took your comment as an accusation, and got defensive. When people get defensive, things get ugly...

I was fine with it, as I stated in my reply to Ben. Then, of course, the whole can of worms has to be opened on an issue that had been resolved! I get defensive when I see a good agent looking for an agency, I respond, I go back to see if she replies, my reply is there, then I go back a second time to see if she replies, and then my response is gone! I've been working with computers since PUNCH CARDS (mid 70's) and I know of no glitch like that! And as I said before, it's the THIRD time it happened to me! My agents know me to be a very thorough person, and I get my facts as straight as possible before I say anything, so this wasn't some whimsical fancy. But it's all a thing of the past...I'll leave you all to your own devices.

Trying to take a step back here for a sec. Chron i will agree that your post has a question mark in it's title, but it seems that the body of the post is rather accusatory. You were very certain it seemed that someone was doing this 'to you' and did not ask if it was a possible mistake, or that someone look into what was happening. I think that is why some are looking for an appology Chron. That being said, this is not reason enough to leave the game, in my opinion, and i hope you continue to be a valued, contributing member of the sleuth community.

I have to agree with calalta here.

The title may have a question mark at the end, but the main body of the post is presented as fact. It also does not help that you stated that you suspected one of the mods in particular of doing it. This put a lot of pressure on the mods because many of us were looking at each other with worry.

Whether it be a small mistake on your part or a technical problem, those were strong accusations. Asking that someone lose a position they have earned seems to point fingers quite strongly. This is why many seek an apology for the 'accusations.'

As well, I agree this shouldn't be a reason to leave the game. You contribue a lot and we would hate to lose you as a valuable asset.

Chron, I'm sure that having replies vanish is frustrating. I can’t think of any reason the Mods or we would want to delete your replies. In fact, we can’t find any evidence of your replies being deleted or moved. That said, we certainly do not doubt your experience! We are just as baffled by it as you are.

Our Mods work very hard to help keep the Sleuth community clean and running smoothly. I do not think that any of them would choose to delete sound replies and then hide the evidence (can’t really hide it from us anyway), nor do I see what they could gain by doing so! I prefer to view this whole episode as one of the many mysteries of Sleuth. Hopefully Ben will be able to crack it sometime soon.

Chron, since this is already a public discussion, I will say to you personally that we are very glad that you have returned to play. It is one of the highest compliments we could receive.

Everyone, I would like to think that we Sleuthers are able resolve many a discussion/argument in health dialogue, free of petty cuts and rants. Please help me realize this utopia.

Chronestrian, I totally agree that you have raised a valid point in pointing out a potential problem in the game. In your position I would have done the same. I think that what people are suggesting you should apologize for is that by saying stuff like:

"As this is the 3rd time this has happened to me, I've alerted Ben. If and when he finds out who has done this, I will ask that they lose their status as board moderator."

...and then upon learning that mods really can't do that without a record being generated...

the polite thing to do would be to address the fact that you have implied someone is abusing their position, instead of telling everyone else to relax and defending your right to do so.

'Kay I'm done...pass the gravy. I got diapers to fill. Ummm LED, I stitched up a special one for you and Blue...it's built for two. Just don't dribble on my frickin' tutu. I want to be buried in that.
