Let me introduce you to The Firm. We started in March 2006, resided in Delhi for a while and (very) recently made the trip to London.

Our headquarters are located at the Derelict Church and can host 11 detectives. We strongly enhance team-playing and take all the time it needs to guide you in your first steps of agency work. Our locker room is well stuffed with items to give a decisive bonus with your charm, smart or tough skills. Entrance means automatic promotion to the rank of agent and thus immediate access to the locker room.

In return for this we ask you to pay a reasonable contribution to the agency's vault but we're not too demanding for newbies :) We also ask members to share their passwords as a sign of confidence and for many practical reasons as well.

Interested in joining? Send a PM to me or Solve A Lot2 and we'll get to you as soon as we can.

All these kind words are so reassuring :)

But as to answer your question, fidoh, our agency had (unfortunately) some bad experiences with members that took items away and sold them for their own purposes. Rather than going into (private or public) debate with those players, we choose to ask for passwords as a sign of confidence. I know that passwords can always be changed but it at least it offers some modest protection.

What Reese said also makes sense. If my intentions were malefact, the rumour would spread around like a virus and you can be darn sure that I can forget for the rest of my Sleuth days to be able to hire anyone at all.

Also there are practical reasons for sharing passwords. Instead of cases piling up for PE verification, you can use your team-mate's contact and do the work by yourself. When there's a treasure hunt going on, you don't have to wait till your team-mate is logged on to work on a favor he/she is holding which can give a decisive lead.

Bottomline is, if you don't trust people well enough I wouldn't recommend to share passwords.

And another thing, Fidoh, I live at Central European Time, so you're not really 8 hours ahead of me :)

well things seem pretty clear cut and i understand why you ask for passwords now. as you can see by my detective profile i am trying to build up skills so that i have enough to offer to an agency and i hope that one day i could be considered for yours :)
