I really think that, as humans, our perfection lies in the so many little imperfections that make us different and unique. Among those are our habits and fears.
I am terrified of balloons! The sound of a balloon being blown up makes me jump up and hit the ceiling! Also, bees, maybe coz I've never been stung by one?

Bad habits: here's a nasty one: I'm a heavy smoker. And I nibble, not my nails, but the skin around them (I know, Yuck!)

So come on, let out the dirty secrets ;)

I was going to PM crunchpat in private. But I figure others may be interested as well. I used to be a hard core smoker, casually smoking starting at the age of 15, progessively smoking more since then, for about 10 years I smoked about a pack a day, and the last 1.5 years of smoking I smoked two packs. I had numerous quit attempts, countless, will power, patches, accupuncture you name it. October last year I ended up reading a book, not because I was planning on quitting, but because over the years I heard so many people rant and rave about it. Hardcore smokers who without much problems quit for life. I decided to simply read it just to see what it was about. As I have a burnout, I wasn't willing to deal with the stress of quitting smoking. The consequences of lapsing back in burnout and not having my crutch. Cigarettes were my crutch best friend, without which I can not live happily. About half way down the book, I really didn't want to smoke anymore. I only kept smoking during reading the rest of the book, because it told me to do so. There are no scary pictures, no stories about cancer and how bad it is for you (after all....we know all that.) It just takes away all the reasons to want to even smoke. On the last page I was finally allowed to stop smoking, after having my ritual of the last cigarette. The first week of withdrawl seemed much easier then usual, after that it was a breeze. After reading the book, there never was a moment where I wanted or even felt tempted to smoke again. Despite some very stressful things happening in my life. Next week is my 9 month celebration. And there is no doubt in my mind that I will ever want to smoke again.

Gross... what is it with that word? Something fashionable that will go away with the next generation? Is it derived from German where it means "big"?

So many smokers, maybe we can all start a support group with Nikki running it....I do that, I bite my nails, no husband so I nag my friends and coworkers...as a matter of fact, take one from every post on here and I probably have it....

Although I do not mind getting dirty (country girl here) i cannot stand the feel of mud in between my toes! like when you are in a river/lake and the mud seeps between your toes...ahhh that just drives me crazy! no clue why though. lol
