I'm not subscribed,but just to see that i'm not alone.
Who else is Not subscribed?

Saul, its not desperate. Its taking care of those people who have subbed. It also encourages unsubs to sub. How is that petty? the subbed people get better game speed, and the unsubbed are given yet another reason to sub. the subscription fee (which is incredibly low) will help pay for more servers. You say to them, get more server power or something. Will you buy it for them? If so, I'm sure they would gladly accept it! You also say you dont like having to make decisions with a gun held to your head. You aren't being forced to sub. you can stay unsubbed and play your three cases whenever the player load allows. Your decision.

Plus, many other sites have this restriction in place, only their subscription fees are much higher. Without subscriptions, there is no way for Ben and Sunny to pay for more servers. They are not made of money, anymore than you or I.

I hope this makes sense, and I hope you will stay and become a part of the wonderful community here.

im new and I can go on here since I am not seven days older, but my one other detective that actually has skills cannot go on since it is like 12 days old or sumphthin'. Anyways i have got a few questions about subscribing, and one of them is that if you are going to pay with paypal, will the password be safe? I don't know but I am just wondering if there is another way, if any of you know. I am thinking about doing it by mail, but I am not sure when it will be okay to be subscribed. How long will it take? I'm confuzzled....

Puffy, I sent cash through the mail to purchase a subscription. I live on the East Coast of the US and I sent the money on a Thurs. and my subscription was up the next Mon.

Though if you do send cash, make sure you wrap something around it in the envelope. This will make sure that no one will realize what it is inside.

I've used Paypal for years and never had any security problems with them.

And for the record I agree with those who have stated above that the new sign-on restriction is not petty or unfair. It is completely reasonable given the current situation.

Well my point is simply this. People will subscribe, or they won't. I had planned to subscribe within the next couple of weeks, because I enjoy the game and the like-minded individuals. I'm starting to get the overwhelming sense that non-subscribers are second-class citizens around here, and that has changed my mind about subscribing and even continuing to play for free. Perhaps a more subtle approach is called for when trying to increase subscriptions, but I certainly recognize that my opinion is in the minority. No, it's not a lot of money to pay for a subscription, but its money I'd rather spend on just about anything else at this point. Case closed.

*takes a deap breath* thanks everyone, now I have a better understanding about the subscription and what should happen afterwards! :-D I'm going to try to send in a check through mail later today, and wait to see what happens next. Well, I guess ....here it goes! :-D

Everyone here, subbed or not, are important but those who pay obviously will get priority over those who don't pay. That's the way it is no matter where you go!

You are right.. people will subscribe or they won't...and if they don't like how it is being unsubbed...then they can change it by subbing. Choice is yours. :)

If you would actually think about it, you would realize that those who do pay, should get priority, and get what they pay for. That isn't being mean, or saying that non-subs arent important, and sorry that you do feel that way :)

It's ashame that you changed your mind about subscribing because Sleuth really is the best game on the internet, and this community can't be beat :) Just my opinion :o) Yes, I'm biased but, it's still true hehe

(you say you wont even play for free....but you know you will be back....Sleuth has that drawing in effect) :o)))

I don't get all this commotion about limited access for non-subbed players. The game already allows a lot of facilities for free. Are there that many online games that offer such a great deal of shareware?

I can understand the decision for allowing subscribed players more opportunities to be able to play. Everybody wants something in return for what they pay for. Is this a privilege? The fact that you are able to do some free-riding because others pay for this game is what I call a privilege.
