Woah. This guy wants to charge me $20,000 instead of the $800 or so before, what gives? Does this mean you should just clear stuff early on? This is painful.

If the idea was to make it cost about 4 days of work to clear the record why not have the payout option and then a "lie low" option. The former would follow the formula already set up and the latter would prevent you from doing anything that would aquire you or your agency any fame and remove some of the higher difficulty/higher paying case levels.

If a real detective messed up and falsely accused two people, he'd likely need to stay out of the limelight, take some basic cases for a while, until the whole thing blew over.

Just a thought

One thing I would like to see is the actual number of times we have made a false in addition to the current number.

Sort of that secret file we keep in the drawer that haunts us at night.

I try very hard not to drop cases, to solve every one. I have a drop rate right now of about 1.5% (5 drops) but I know that is deceptively low because I have about 8 or 9 falses also. I would like to know what my real success rate is.

The most obscene price I have had to come up with was $65,308 to give shady. It was a stupid really. I just clearly was not paying attention.(After 6 1/2 hours of sleuthing I spaced out and clicked the person with a very similar name as my guilty suspect (Adelaide instead of Adelarde or something like that). I DO NOT take risky guesses now with my exp growing. We also have someone in our agency with a FA that will cost just over $100,000 to remove.

YIKES!!!!

Advice to sleuthers new and old.... better to have quit and been safe than to have to sell off everything to pay shady. :) Afterall, there are no reprecussions for having too many quit cases. Just a feeling of complete depression and inadequacy ... lol.

Moon Lighter, I also accused a person with a similar name, & it took a hole out of my finances..lol. Oh, here's something stupid I done, I went to sleep while solving a case & clicked on a name while I was asleep & made a false accusation. Talk about shocked & feeling silly when I opened my eyes. I should have went to bed, but I kept pushing myself. In fact, I had stayed up all night & most of the next day when this happened. I was truly addicted to this game,& I still am, but just not as bad...ha!. Once I made an accusation because my spouse asked me to look at something on TV. Instead of writing the suspects name down, I thought I wouldn't forget, but I did...ouch! I promised myself I'd never take chances & be more careful...lol.Recently I read on the message board that the hints by the merchants helped direct in the right direction,so I started asking the merchants for hints. On a few cases the hint "blah, blah, knows who the murderer is," was correct, however, on this time I accused the wrong suspect, & it cost me over half of my three million. Anyway,I checked about the hints & learned that the hints by merchants are merely a response & that's it, so I quit asking them..lol. I agree with a response earlier that reducing the percentage owed to the Shady Man would help. At least it would give some relief to older sleuths with such high experience points, but if not possible, it's cool:)(*__*)

Personally, I think I should cap out somewhere high up. Like 1.000.00o xp for instance. Alternatively, all of your money BUT minimum 1.000.000 xp's worth.

That way it is possible to pay of shady when you make sleep deprived mistakes. Those are inevitable and loosing your detective because you've been a dedicated player is a horrible thing.
