"Shangri-La" according to the trusty Wikipedia...
"Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British writer James Hilton. In the book, "Shangri-La" is a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Himalaya. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia — a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient. The story of Shangri-La is based on the concept of Shambhala, a mystical city in Tibetan Buddhist tradition."
Hmmm... interesting, a fictional Himalayan utopia. I wonder why this was chosen as the new Sleuth city.
Some musings on this new addition to the Sleuth world...
>>How could this new city be "hidden?" Maybe unlockable?
>>Will there be new factions and townies? Will we have the opportunity to go there and obtain contacts like the other cities?
>>Will Shangri-La be accessible to all players, or only to subscribers?
Now some musings on this whole "arch villain" concept...
>>Will this be an agency thing or an individual thing (like a hunt for one person)?
>>Will the "arch villains" be a subscriber thing?
>>What exactly are the "arch villains" going to be? Mobsters?
Golly, you could go on forever... sometimes it's hard to be patient. :)

Anyone else picturing the Riddler, the Joker, and Catwoman running around Sleuthland when they think of Arch Villians?

Serial killers. Crooked cops who keep screwing you over. Arch-nemeses who taunt you from case to case. Vengeful ex-lovers you coulda sworn you'd given the slip back in Arkansas via your cunning cross-dressing ruse.
This has so much potential for awesome.
And hey, sure, bring on the new flashy gear: god knows Odyssey Inc's equipment locker isn't /already/ packed full of enough'a Serena's "completely useless crap that's "too pretty to throw away"". What on earth this dame needs five sets of satin slippers for, I have /no/ idea, but I'm sure the reasoning pales in comparison to the questions that'll arise after a shopping spree in Shangri-La.

I do hope that this leads to many of our new players into subscribing. Building up a detective ready to handle the new challenges and travel.
Looks like fun.

I hope this expansion doesn't involve resetting all detectives to zero experience. I wonder what the new look will be like.
