okay, so squirrels 'Now is the winter of our discotheque' bit over on the pub quiz thread pretty much had me sneezing my soup out laughing. It reminded me of misheard lyrics...I've heard these actually have a name: Mondagreens -taken from some poem or sonnet or something -it's original lyric contained the phrase "...his Lord and laid him on the green". This was heard by many as "Lord and Lady Mondagreen", or so goes the legend...

Anyhoo...know any? I have a couple:

Excuse me while I kiss this guy (that would be Jimi Hendrix, and "kiss the sky")

Last night, I dreamt of some bagels (dreamt of San Pedro -Madonna- La Isla Bonita)

Bred upon a douche, another gunner in his sights (yeah...revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night...blinded by the light, etc etc)

lol I can feel a pub quiz devoted to these coming on...

here's a couple more:

apparently Mick sang:
I see a Renoir and I want to paint it black... (Red Door and I want to...)

and to stick with my Elton John theme (apologies to the kiddies)
"She's got electric boobs, her mom has two" (electric boots, a mohair suit)
I notice Sunny has her own little mondegreen in Sunny and the Jets - Agency Decription :)

OMG detective smart ass posted......that's my hand in her avatar. :)

Most songs that were made in the 70s or early 80s I can only sing phonetically. Because I started to learn English in 1986 and it took me a few years to properly understand lyrics. (This is why I do not sing along in public.)

wow LED...*stuffs a magnificently-endowed pigeon in his pants*

is the first one Nelly Furtado? (I'm like a bird...)?

Second has to be Eric Clapton, Tears in Heaven?

*gives jstkdn's hand in that avatar a high-five*

Haven't heard this song for a while but today when I heard it I laughed because I always think he's saying..... Every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you.
May be someone has been hanging out with Sylvia Lee at the Meaty Treat
