Tom, started to play, don't have enough time to finish even one mystery today, but at least I found the site and started one mystery. Next time I better take along a pencil and pad to remember the facts. You are way ahead of me in points, I receive 80 by chosing my character. roger and out.

Yup I agree with LED.

I don't think most people will be too crazed for the message board be used as a solution to Nephi's pop up problem.

I will say that Research is a very good skill to pick very early in the life of your detective. It has a high skill point cost and skill points come much faster early in your detective's career.

You still need the interview skills and thread and hair to be successful but there are varying opinions on which to purchase in which order.

I still maintain that the basic interview skills and basic smart skills are more important to a new detective astor, as there's no point researching a case when you can't even find the suspects to research :)
As Ran says there ARE varying opinions, hence the reason I pointed you to the Welcome Newbie's post and the Moderator's Picks.
Once again, good luck. And thank you R.Asstett for your helpful contribution :)

RESEARCH!!!!! I can' t say it often enough. Get Research as early as you can once you have your basic evidence skills. Ran is correct. Skill points come slower the farther you are in the game, so it is wise to get the higher cost skills as early as possible.

And yes, there are varying opinions. (ain't it Great? :) ) My method was to get my basic evidence skills, the first charming skill (or you can do tough if you prefer), and then Research.
