I'm a total newbie here, so I have a ton of questions about skill points. Do you get only one skill point per case or does it increase?? Also, I thought that if you chose a character that was good at one thing ("things" being Toughness, Smarts, and Charm) that it costs less to "buy" the skill? I did the advanced way of making your character (am I making sense?) and I don't think that happened for me.........
Any help would be appreciated :) (I'm still trying to get used to this site, so sorry if I did/do something wrong..........)

You get them based on the amount of exp you have. So when you have 0 exp and then get 20 exp, you'll get a few (if not several). Then, when you get around 5000 exp, you might not get any for a few cases. Once you reach around 1 million, it can be days or weeks before you see one.

It does 'cost' less to 'buy' skills that are in that category.

If you did the advanced skill choosing, then you still will get the 'discount' on the skills, but, remember, it is only for skills in your category(ies).

Hope that helps!!!

Hi Talianna Preiwinkle, At the beginning you will get skill points pretty easily, the harder the level case you do correctly the higher amount of skill points you'll get. As time goes on it gets harder harder to get skill points, I don't know if any one knows the formula but my guess is it could include the experience points that you already have in combination with the level case you do.

You should be able to get Smarts and Charm skills cheaper than Tough, as your detective is Smart and Charming.

No skill is cheap they average around 10 to 12 so it wise to think about what you can buy when you get a chance. If you don't have reasearch it would be my first choice then the charm interview skills.

Good luck.
