I logged in there once using my first (and sadly now defunct -RIP Detective okcancel...stupid shady bled him like a stuck pig), and just remembered it and returned to find the place deserted. Do a lot of you go there? Or is it like a place I should go when I want to meditate on the beauty of the sound of one hand clapping?

lol
I go there every now and then. But i think it is mostly used when the server is down. Then we can all comisserate together the drunken monkeys who run the server (or at least the old server).
I think it is kind of hit and miss as far as people being there.

I log into there and go hang out in the basement as is my wont when ever I am in sleuth from my home computer. I would hazard a guess that I spend 8 to 10 hours a week in sleuth chat.

It depends on how you view it also. As autumnsprings points out many use it after they are done with cases (or have no access to cases). I tend to just have it running in the background as I do my things. Sometimes it is a steady flow of people, sometimes it is quiet and peaceful.

Last night I was on for 2 hours or so, in a 30 minute stretch we had 2 or 3 in at once, but for well over an hour there was no one but my self. If you do want people to visit and chat you have to just hang out as people drift in and out.

I dont go there as often as I used to. For one, I cant do cases and chat at same time, unless its through the Sleuth PM lol......and if I am in Sleuth chat, its either because server is down or I have nothing else to do after my cases are gone.

It's a great place tho....and very fun :)

It really goes with ups and downs. It's not so much related to the sever being down or not. It's more so related on who is in there, and how much time people have. I have been told by people before, that they didn't even realize there was a sleuthchat. So part of the problem is that. Another problem is, that people log in for a few seconds. That doesn't help. A site needs to have 500+ regular users for there being a possibility of logging in for a few seconds and catch someone.

I expect for some things to change soon though (with a little luck tomorrow.) I am making some major additions and changes to sleuthchat. Which turns sleuthchat more in to a multi-functional community site, instead of just a chat engine.

There are approx 250 people subbed.
Between 30-50 of which considered frequent or regular sleuthchatters. This is somewhat of a vague number, as it comes in bursts.
The core group, that is on almost daily or very frequent is about 10-15.

I am not gonna make go-live today. :( Had to do some real life stuff. I do expect to finish up tomorrow, as what I need to complete is quite straightforward.

Crunchpatty....your funny. We like funny people in sleuthchat.

One way to help me. If you have any cool links, please PM them to me. Particularly links that have to do with Sleuth.

And no use in checking the current location of sleuthchat if it is up. I'll post when we are live.

In the new sleuthchat, there is always someone to talk to. Cyrus Tibby lives in our Tricky Mister. :) :) :)
