This is just to get Lady Emerald Devon off my back. She says there are still people who don't know there is a sleuth chat site. Well there is. :)

As sleuthchat only has little over 200 registered users, and a lot less regular users then that.....if you catch no one, stay in a chat room until someone joins you, or check some other time. It's hard to catch people, if everybody just logs in for 30 seconds and log out immediately when no one is there.

Someone asked questions in regards to not being able to catch anyone. Copying my answers here as well, for convenience.

The best advise I can give you is to log in, but stay logged in. If everybody just does a check quick if someone is there, then no one ever catches another person. For a chat site to be big enough to make the chance large to catch someone at any time you check is about 500+ members, we are unfortunately at little over 200.

There is on almost all week days a regular group of people around during evening and night time European time zone. If I go by sleuth server time it would be from late morning until mid (definitely not late) evening time. US sleutchatters am I wrong??? On the weekend it is a bit less busy, but even then people seem to catch each other. On most weekdays in the times I mentioned there are about 15 people or more logging in. Some stay for hours, others jump in and out, then others stay for a quick fly by.

These usually get started by a single person logging in at some point. And inherently goes off to play sleuth while having sleutchat running in the background. Other people notice someone is in sleutchchat and join in.

Most of us are in sleutchat while multitasking doing something else, for most of course playing sleuth.

Another idea is, is to ask someone to join you in sleuthchat. I sometimes go around sleuth PMing people, and force them to join me. hahah.

We are not always in the Tricky Mister.

When you see the room list after you log in (Tricky Mister, The Loft, The Pool, etc), behind each room it says the maximum amount of people allowed in a single room, and how many people are in there. 2/12 means there are 2 people in a chatroom that fits 12. Don't let the differences between central meeting place and lounge fool you, also the lounges are meeting places.

Uhm sleutchat is down.

It's my fault.

I tried to sneak some changes past my host, to fix our recurring chat goes down problem.

And now I sorta uhm wrecked sleutchat db, host won't help me, and I don't know what to do.

Sorry. I am groveling with my host right now. But I may have to rebuild sleutchat entirely, which will take me a few days.

Needless to say.....I am so embaressed for being a sneaky bastard, and now have my host reprimanding me, yet me still begging for help for them to fix it.

It's a curse to be smart enough to know how to "potentially" bypass your host, but be too stupid to fix your wrecked database when they built in measures to prevent you from doing so.

*hides in shame* Sorry sorry, grovel grovel.
