See if there is interest for this.
1. Each day I will post 10 questions, at random times of the day.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly 24 hours.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

Nooo, it wasn't meant to be taken that literally, you can still post a new quiz. Please?? With lots of sugar on top :)
Can't believe there wasn't a shiny new quiz waiting today. Maybe a paranoid squirrel told everyone to boycott the daily pub quiz because someone forgot to credit him for also getting all the answers correct??

Well, alright if no one volunteers then I'll post the next one so we here on the "morning crew" can get our quiz fix - but it's the last one, you hear ;D
Watch the birdie
1) Which bird features on the Great Seal of the United States?
2) "Nevermore", quoth this bird.
3) The title of one of Chekhov's plays also mentions a bird. Which one?
4) This bird dreams of flying higher and higher in a short story by Richard Bach. What is its full name?
5) Flying higher and higher on wings made of feathers and wax, to his father's great sorrow this boy ended up falling out of the sky.
6) Oh, to be able to fly like the birds do. This girl said she was just like one in her hit(?)-single from 2000.
7) a) On to Arabian mythology, this enormous bird was reputedly so powerful that it was able to lift and eat elephants. It also appears in one of the adventures of Sindbad the Sailor.
b) In Russian folklore, this magical glowing bird from a far away land can mean both blessing and doom to its captor. A single feather can light up an entire room. What's it called?
c) Let's try out Norse mythology as well? Odin, the chief god in Norse mythology, had two birds (of the same kind as the one in Q2), who kept him informed of what was going on around the worlds. What were their names?
8) How many blackbirds were backed in the pie?
9) Baked in a pie!! That's enough to give you nightmares. A British filmmaker made a (horror) movie about some not so friendly birds. Who was he?
10) Rounding off this feathery quiz: Why did the chicken cross the road?

Angry with you? No no no no, absolutely not - I wouldn't, I couldn't, you all absolutely make the early part of my day (even though I completely blame you for distracting me from what I ought to be doing - *looks over on the stack of books and articles that are gathering dust* ;p). But I don't think I have any new ones on the way at the moment at least for the next week or so :)
Oh and ad7c - they may be going "aar aar" when they "talk", but it's not what they're called ;)
