The Grand Father clock chimed. It was 11'o clock. She still wasn't back. My roommate, Alex, had gone out over three hours ago, to buy us some packs of cigs.

But every time one og us did, we promised the other we were going to quit.

I was getting worried. She never, ever took this long-the shop was only four blocks away. It would of taken her 20 minutes at the most.

All sorts of ideas lept into my head. She had been abducted. Murdered. Raped.

So it was a bit unnerving when a officer knocked on our door. Alex had been Mugged, then killed by a gun.

It turns out the muggers/murderers were part of an old gang Alex used to be part of. But when she quit, they thought she was going to tell opposing gangs about them.......So they silenced her.

I will never forgive them.
